Extracurriculars.

We can't wait to welcome you to the valley where Guin was raised and that has come to mean so much to both of us. While we have put together some ideas / suggestions to show you a sampling of what the valley has to offer, there is much more that can be explored on your own time.

Below is a list of some of the valley's most prominent attractions and a few local recommendations to some of our favorite spots!

Eat + Drink

Rasberry's | Laid-back eatery for comfort food with Latin American touches, made from local ingredients (bonus: Maeme & Callie Rasberry are Guin’s cousins, but the recco is completely unbiased). Breakfast & Lunch only.

Maude's | Coffee, delicious small bites + the best vintage garb around. IYKYK.

La Cabinita | Best Mexican dive in town!

Kneadery | Cozy breakfast spot with hearty, homestyle fare amid kitschy Western decor.

The Cellar | Solid Ketchum dive bar.

The Casino | Even more dive-y Ketchum dive bar. An institution.

Scout Wine & Cheese | Wine and Cheese Shop / wine bar in downtown Ketchum. Small bites menu and nice outdoor patio.

Rickshaw | Nook for small, seasonal plates of Southeast Asian street fare with a bar & patio.

Enoteca | Italian Inspired Cuisine, delicious wood fired pizzas + wine bar in the heart of Downtown Ketchum.

Grumpy's | Get a burger + schooner of beer and hang out on the patio after a long day playing outside.

Sawtooth Brewery | Burgers, bratwurst & more, plus beer, wine, cider & kombucha in laid-back digs, nice porch to kick back outside day-time.

Pioneer Saloon | Landmark restaurant serving steaks etc. No reservations, wait times can be epic (suggest going early / putting your name down… and once inside, order the Jim Spud).

Powerhouse | Hybrid bike shop & lively hangout in Hailey. Huge beer selection, delicious food.

Cafe Della | Café, bakery, and market located in the heart of Hailey. Delicious take away dishes.

Warfield Distillery & Brewery | Grab a cocktail or a beer and catch a sunset on the rooftop bar.

Sister | Guin’s mama’s store! A treasure trove of beautiful, eclectic clothing and accessories for women.

Take the Gondola up to Round House for a cocktail and enjoy the view from atop the world famous ski mountain, Baldy.

Rent flyfishing gear & book a guide for the day (at Lost River on Main St in Ketchum) for some of the best fishing on the planet.

Drive out Warm Springs to soak in Frenchman’s hot springs.

Go ice skating at the Sun Valley Lodge outdoor rink.

Around town.

Hike.

From mellow loops skirting mountain lakes and rivers, to 12,000-foot rocky mountain peaks, there are endless options for all levels of hikers to explore.

Within just a 5-mile radius of Ketchum alone, you’ll find over 90 miles of hiking trails!

Hiking + Biking

Hiking + Biking 2

Jump in Redfish Lake, lounge on the beach, take a day trip down class 2-3 main Salmon river.  Finish the day off with a wander around the funky mountain town gem Stanley. (Bonus: hit the Stanley Bakery, book an hour or 2 in the private hot springs tub at the Mountain Village Resort— just call the front desk to reserve a time. This is one of our all-time favorite day trip activities, you will not be disappointed).

Or get adventurous and explore the zillions of other natural hot springs around the surrounding area.

Go North.

Craters of the Moon.

A short drive south from the Wood River Valley will land you smack dab of the closest thing to a lunar landscape that you might find here on planet earth.

Bonus: Hit the Shoshone Ice Caves along the way.
